On the shores of the vast playground for unique photos in the Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat salt flats of Uyuni, is literally the Palace of Salt. This is one of the few destinations that becomes popular during the rainy season (November through March), giving you the “mirror” effect and just indulge your creativity along with your camera for some unique photos. The dry season is also a great time to travel and take some amazing photos as well. This hotel is definitely a work of art! It was built with bricks made of salt and the evidence that no dream, however extraordinary it may seem, is ever diluted before it comes true.
The Palacio de Sal is located at only 16 minutes from the Uyuni Airport, on the edge of the Salt Flats. The property offers a total 42 rooms sorted into 4 different categories. From its 360° view point you can admire the amazing views and colors as the sunsets bring beautiful tones of reds along the horizon. Its restaurant combines traditional dishes with international cuisine while their coffee bar offers one of the best coffees as the beans at this altitude hold a stronger flavor.
In the spa you may use their heated swimming pool or book any of their special body treatments and return home recharged. We recommend the Jayu Experience which includes being covered in salt granules to lose the dead cells of your skin followed by a back treatment using mineral mud from the Thunupa volcano.
