Whale Watching Season Open from June to September
Ecuador
Ecuador is one of the most impressive destinations for whale watching in the world. It has become a highly popular activity amongst locals and visitors from June to September each year. The beaches of Ecuador welcome many tourists to witness the passing of these magnificent and gigantic mammals. The whales entertain observers with their water dances and incredibly high jumps, as if they were showing off! The warm water temperatures off the Ecuadorian coast during this season is the reason why these beauties are attracted to the coastline. 16-meter long humpback whales can be spotted almost daily. Many boat tours depart from fishing towns in the Manabi province, where due to its privileged position, provides better visibility. Some of the more popular locations for whale watching are Machalilla National Park, Isla de la Plata and Puerto Lopez.
